Join Us for Conversations for the Planet 🌱
We’re excited to extend an invitation to one more Conversations for the Planet event, scheduled for April 15th at 15:00 UTC.
The theme for this enlightening conversation is “What on earth connects design with soil care?” featuring John Thackara and Ezio Manzini talk about social innovation and bioregioning and moderated by Louise St. Pierre. This event aims to foster reflection on environmental sustainability, challenging DESIS Labs to delve into projects addressing related issues.
Our speakers describe the event like this:
“Over the ages we’ve invested huge resources to keep cities and nature separate. But we now know that the health of the soil, and the health of people, are the same story.
But what has this got to do with design? John Thackara describes a shift from high-entropy concepts of infrastructure to a focus on living systems – from eco-boulevards to pollinator pathways. These are other projects, he argues, reconnect man and nature, and accelerate the transition to ecological design. In the new system now emerging care – for the wellbeing of social and ecological systems – replaces money as the ultimate measure of value.”
This event promises to catalyze reflection and inspire action for the well-being of our planet. Share the event with your network and join us for an enriching conversation!
